Question: I'm in my second year of college, I'll be specialized in chemistry this year. Is there any chance to get a scholarship to finish my studies in the US?

I live in Morocco, I have a Belgian nationality, I'm very fluent in English.

For additional information: I just came back from a summer program in the US, so I had a J-1 visa.

Answer: Many universities offer scholarships to international students but these scholarships usually do not finance your entire education. Begin searching for the universities that offer the degree you are seeking and see what they may offer.

Since you will have completed two years of a bachelors degree you will be considered a transfer student. There is no guarantee that the credits you have earned in your degree will transfer to the university you may be admitted to in the U.S. In the "Useful Information" section of this website (www.vco-edusa.net) under "Admission Process" you will find some information on transferring.

Question: Is it possible to apply for financial aid after I have been admitted to a certain university in the U.S?

Answer: It may be possible to apply for financial aid after you are admitted but you may have to wait until the following year to receive it. This is up the your university. It is always better to apply for the financial aid when you apply for admission. The reason is that the money gets allocated to other students during the admission process.

Question: I have been accepted an offer to study for a Bachelor of Fine Arts Musical Theatre degree but it's nearly impossible for us to pay. If my parents take out a loan for me, would I still be granted a visa?

Also, do you know of any scholarships that support students to study Musical Theatre in the US?

Answer: The visa officer would need to see proof that you are able to pay for at least one year of your schooling. They would not be interested in how much debt your parents have.
