Dickinson School of Law at Penn State University Announces New Fields of Study in LL.M. Program

The Penn State Law LL.M. program is a 24-credit, one academic year course of study open to individuals who hold a degree in law from an accredited institution outside of the United States.

New specialized fields of study announced by Penn State Law (www.law.psu.edu) provide international law students with the opportunity to both gain general skills in navigating the American legal system and specialty international legal expertise. The three fields of study—Business Law; Arbitration, Mediation and Negotiation; and International and Transnational Law — tap into Penn State Law’s longstanding areas of global recognition and feature world renowned scholars.

The new specialized fields of study capitalize on the strong relationship between the Law School and Penn State’s School of International Affairs (www.sia.psu.edu), directed by Penn State Law Professor Tiyanjana Maluwa, an internationally acclaimed human rights scholar who served as the first counsel to the African Union and later as counsel to the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights. Additional School of International Affairs faculty include former ambassadors to Thailand, Peru, Mozambique and Cambodia; a former Under Secretary General of the United Nations who served as Executive Director of UNSCOM; the world’s pre-eminent scholar of the law of Russia and public international law; the former science advisor to the U.S. Secretary of State; the former Senior Director for Middle East Affairs at the National Security Council; and others.
